Off site

Water Activities

Water Activities will be located at Chowder Bay on Sydney Harbour. Approximately 1 and 1/2 hour bus ride from the Jamboree site. Scouts will have a whole day at Chowder Bay to splash about and have fun with mix of water activities such as Canoeing, Kayaking, Windsurfing, Sailing, a Water Obstacle course and Water and Beach games.

City Tour

Sydney watch out! The Scouts are coming. Scouts will spend a day in the heart of one of the worlds most famous cities. Scouts as part of Patrols (groups of 5-6) will undertake a series of fun activities visiting iconic locations in the Sydney CBD. These include:

  • Harbour Bridge
  • Circular Quay
  • Opera House
  • Botanical Gardens
  • Pitt St Mall
  • Darling Harbour

Special bases will be set up around Sydney where Scouts will use computers to learn the next step of their mission and gain points in the activities.

Jamberoo Adventure Park

The Jamboree at Jamberoo! The Jamboroo Adventure Park is NSW’s biggest fun park and during the Jamboree the Scouts will be controlling the action. This is another full day activity packed with excitement. At Jamboree Scout can:

  • Catch a wave at Outback Bay
  • Ride the mountain toboggan
  • Slipdown surf hill and the giant waterslide
  • Dare to try the Taipan water thrill ride!

Endurance

Activities will be spread out through the forest between the Jamboree site. These activities will challenge patrols to show planning, teamwork, and ingenuity as well as being a bit of fun. Teams will be given map bearings which they will use to locate the activity bases and arrive at the closing gathering point. Some of the activties include:

  • Abseiling
  • Kite making
  • Escape from Cataract
  • Skirmish
  • Milk create stacking
  • Camp courage
  • First Aid
  • Raft Building
  • Pillow pumble

Air Activities

Get into Air Activities and experience the excitement of cockpit procedures, observe Aircraft controls, listen to air traffic control Instructions as you soar high in our fleet of Cessna 172’s. Enjoy uninterrupted views of the Hawkesbury Nepean district and your Camp Site at Cataract.

At AJ2010 flights from Camden airport will available at extra cost. There are a total of 1200 flights available which will be allocated a booking during the event. The cost includes transport between the Jamboree site and Camden aerodrome.
