Name THE AJ2010 NEWSPAPER RADIO AND TV!

newspaper

In 2001 and 2004, there was 'The Jam'. In 2007, there was 'Kevin'. The radio station's been 'Jam FM', 'X Fm' and 'Roadkill FM' over the past few Jamborees too.

This year we're after a name to cover all the Media Team services. The Media Team will be producing a daily newspaper, running an FM radio station, and producing a daily TV show.

The Media Team for AJ2010 have shortlisted ten names, and want you to vote for the option you think is the best!

What's been happening at Cataract Park?

Much work is already under way to ensure that the Jamboree is going to be the best AJ yet!

There's a lot to do before a Jamboree, and Cataract Scout Park has been undergoing great improvements including major upgrades to the supply compound and a large concrete slab to make unloading & unloading trucks much safer and more efficient, and allow additional storage.

All the power transformers have been serviced, repaired & upgraded, power poles have been upgraded and replaced, and a state-of-the-art Fibre Optic network is now being installed – our very own 'Cataract Broadband Network' to ensure all our Data and Voice service requirements can be easily accommodated.

Buildings are being upgraded and 'spruced up' during the course of the year, including a new kitchen in Sub Camp 8.

We have received Federal Government Grants to assist in replacing old toilet cisterns with new dual flush cisterns, to enable us to use less water. We have also installed an additional 2 new 125,000 litre water tanks with Federal Government Grant assistance.
