AJ2010 Christmas baubles

The AJ2010 Organising Committee was handed control of the Cataract Scout Park Site on 1st December and since then the fantastic Sites & Services Team and their many suppliers and contractors have been working night and day, 7 days a week to get set for THE best Jamboree Australia has seen in a long time. Everywhere you go at Cataract giant Hokka’s and temporary buildings are being put into place, the plumbers, electricians and IT technicians are finishing off the work they have been doing for 12 months, transforming Cataract Scout Park into the 35th largest town in NSW between the 4th and 14th January, 2010, with the newest, most energy efficient and technologically advanced infrastructure we are able to provide to take care of AJ2010 and the AJ’s to follow it at Cataract Scout Park.

The Doc’s health tips

Girl at hospital

Every Day “Doc” - alias Dr. Allan Kirkpatrick, Director of Health & Medical Services at AJ2010 - will be helping us all take care of ourselves by giving us daily health tips which you can read about in JNN daily, hear on JNN 103.7 fm, and see on JNN tv (Mum and Dad can also watch them at home on the Official AJ2010 Website).

The Doc also wanted us to remind you that you only have a short time to have your “Swine Flu” vaccination, and we’ll repeat the previous special newsletter….

Swine Flu vaccinations recommended for all AJ participants

Swine flu

It is strongly recommended by the Health Department in New South Wales that you get vaccinated against H1N1 ’09 influenza (otherwise known as ‘swine flu’ or pandemic influenza) before you attend the Jamboree.

You should bring along some evidence that you have been vaccinated from you health care provider. The vaccine is widely available in Australia.

For international participants please contact your health care provider to try to obtain vaccination before you leave. We understand that in some countries it may be difficult to obtain.

Scouts will not be prevented from participating if they are not vaccinated.
